02.11.2015 — Hard Talk: German-Russian Relations
On Monday 2nd November, 2015 the conference center SwissOtel Krasnye Holmy hosted the 8th meeting of the German-Russian Forum, which jointly with the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce organised the discussion in the form of a Hard Talk on the subject "Russian-German Relations". As the main guests in the discussion participated:
- Leonid Kalashnikov - the First deputy chairman of the State Duma International Affairs Committee, the Deputy of the State Duma from "Communist Party of the Russian Federation";
- Alexander Rahr - the German political scientist and foreign affairs specialist, member of the Council on Foreign Policy of Germany;
- moderated by Matthias Schepp - the German journalist who has been writing about Russia for more than 20 years, and who heads at the moment the Moscow office of the Spiegel magazine
Leonid Kalashnikov and Alexander Rahr transparently answered the questions of the moderator concerning past, existing and future special relations between the two key powers.
The public also took part in the discussion, interested in various issues concerning the conflict in Syria, confrontation of opinions of Russia and Germany regarding Ukraine, traditions and importance of cooperation and rapprochement.
